About MilitaryLounge
Founded in 2010 by two C-17 Pilots
In 2010 two C-17 Pilots, Jason and Jeff, created MilitaryLounge with the goal of leveraging the then newly released iPhone as a powerful tool for military soldiers. Their first App, PerDiemCalc was met with significant praise and quickly rose to a ‘Top 50′ App in the iTunes Finance category. Additionally, the App was featured in MilitaryTimes as a ‘Top 10 Must Have Apps’. Their early entry into the mobile market enabled them to provide expertise to a number of military and government projects outside of MilitaryLounge.
Jason and Jeff subsequently released MilPay, a tool for military soldiers to estimate their pay – no easy task as the government currently provides over 20 incentive pays, some based on location, time in grade, time in career field and many other unique factors. MilPay continues to be the company’s best selling App.
Several other iOS Apps and two Android Apps have been added to the MilitaryLounge portfolio during the past few years. Most of these are niche Apps, tailored to specific problems military soldiers face. As pilots, they have used their knowledge of technology shortfalls to release five aircraft specific iOS Apps designed to eliminate human factor issues in calculating crew duty day limitations.
Jason is currently transitioning from active duty into a role with a growing tech company.
Jeff has recently relocated to San Francisco, California where he’s a C-17 Reserve pilot for the 301st Airlift Squadron at Travis AFB.
